NFL Points Updated
Written by Eric Hare
Wednesday, 19 December 2007
The NFL site has been updated with points accumulated during the year thusfar.  The NFL site is the official page for the league our team competes in.  Every tournament you do goes on your record, and earns you points.  These points stay with you all through high school.  Here is the table that explains how points are earned (note: PF and LD earn you 6 points for a win, and 3 points for a loss):

Rank:
1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th

The more points you earn, the more degrees you earn.  Degrees are incredibly beneficial to the team, because the number of people we can enter at the Nat Quals tournament is determined by the total degrees earned by the team.  Furthermore, these degrees earn you an NFL pin.  They go as follows:

Degree
Points
Jewels
Seal
Merit
25
None
White
Honor
75
Emerald
Bronze

150
Sapphire
Silver

So without further ado, head over to http://www.nflonline.org/points_application/reports.php .  If you type your first and last name, and click Search, your name will come up and you can view your profile.  It lists all the wins, losses, ranks, and points earned from each event in each tournament this year.  A final round counts as one ballot (your highest earned).  Finally, one last note, some points earned from the Summer Camp have not yet been entered.  But they will be soon.

Arlington Results
Written by Eric Hare
Sunday, 16 December 2007
Congratulations to all who competed at the Arlington tournament this weekend!  We won 24 awards as a team, including 15 in extemp and impromptu alone.  Seven of these were first place awards, 3 of which qualified a few of our competitors for a state bid in March.

State Bids
Colin Cole - Impromptu
Jacob Espy - Humorous
Eric Hare - Extemp

See the history tab for the full list of award winners.  Furthermore, our team has now won about 110 trophies so far this season.  By comparison, our team of mostly seniors last year had 147 trophies at this point in time.  We have already passed our entire total of 96 trophies during our "break-out" year of 2005-2006.  It's an accomplishment worth being proud of everyone, so nice job!
